Hey Jude...

One of the most popular saints ever petitioned is St. Jude Thaddeus or St. Jude( I mean can you imagine Paul McCartney singing a new rendition of Hey Jude..with St. Jude..). He is widely known as the patron saint of lost cases and impossible things. He is the one you go to for money, career or any other type of crisis. Most often he assists you out last minute or comes through in a way you hadn't conceived of but he reportedly gets the job done.

It's no coincidence that the meaning behind his name is generous, kind, and courageous because he lived this life this way and answers others through those channels.

It is customary to publish a word of thanks and devotion to him and the prayer that you used to in a way advertise his services. With social media being the way it is you might also do a video, post it on Facebook, or tweet it.

The entire back story of how St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and widespread attention for St. Jude's Shrine all begins with actor Danny Thomas. You see at the time he was struggling to make it in the entertainment biz and was a nightclub entertainer not getting much money or attention that he needed to provide for of his expanding family and to get paid more for his gigs. He stagehand told him about St. Jude..okay practically bragged about that was that the saint to approach because his wife had a miraculous turn around from cancer that didn't seem it would ever happen after he petitioned to him. Let's just say Danny Thomas bargained with St. Jude..help me out and I'll do something big in your name. He started out small with prayers to St. Jude and little by little starting earning more money and landing gigs..eventually his very prayers were answered. You can read the entire story here.

Here is the prayer to say to him:

Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of.

Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of.

Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (here make your request) and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever.

I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.

Spark Notes: I must say this..sometimes you may say a novena and you don't have an evident evidence that it's being answered and you go wtf was that about and wonder if they are there. I will say this. You can't blame a saint if nothing happens and other instances you really don't know what is going on..perhaps a learning lesson in patience, faith, or seeing the good in others; maybe it's just for you to learn more about that saint and making a closer bond with them by petitioning them and becoming familiar with your life as it will give you persistence in your own; or things can take longer to answer or maybe the infamous line of whatever will be, will be. Do know the saint or saints you ask for are with you regardless of the outcome. They are present with you.
